We Are America
I struggled with this one - I even wrote a song and SUNO.ai turned the lyrics into a powerful music comp. But while pulling images together I kept hitting a wall. That kind of blockage that creative types often deal with.
The point being - I am distressed for all the things piling up around us that suggests we, as one nation, under God, are sliding toward decimation. But, in fact, it is global not just national so I suspect there is something bigger going on here - demons among us maybe?
Anyway, I decided to keep my fears to myself. Then, while poking around in Youtube I found a word of encouragement in a song by Bruise Wintersteen
And I realized that there has never been a perfect era in the history of humankind. Bad things happen. Bad people with nefarious agendas rise to positions of power. But I recalled this Scripture:
2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
As bad as things can be, or seem to be, we do have a solution.
As we gather to celebrate this benchmark birthday for this country that we love - let us be grateful.
A wonderful reminder!
A good reminder, April. America has come through a number of crises over the years. Those with eyes that can see recognize God's hand in the resolution of each, beginning with the unlikely victory of thirteen rag-tag colonies over the mighty British empire. I pray God preserves our great nation for years to come, but if that is not part of his plan, then I pray "In God we may trust," to be ready for a future that may include suffering before the final triumph.
